Mercedes-Benz Vito 2026 previewed in ‘Vision V’ concept
The Mercedes-Benz Vito 2026 has been previewed in Daimler’s ‘Vision V’ concept, showcased virtually this month. The Vito is the oldest van in the Mercedes-Benz line-up, and one of the oldest one the market, having been launched back in 2014.
Set to be launched in 2026, the upcoming Vito will be the fourth-generation of Merc’s medium-sized van following the first-generation (W638; 1996-2006), second-generation (W639; 2006-2014) and third-generation (W447; 2014-present).
The upcoming Vito will be based on Daimler’s new VAN.EA (Van Electric Architecture) platform, suggesting there will be no ICE models although there is the possibility of a range-extender hybrid.

Mercedes-Benz Vito 2026 Design
From the concept pictures, it appears that the 2026 Mercedes-Benz Vito will retain the sporty and elegant exterior design that has underscored each model since its inception.
“The Mercedes-Benz Vans have been iconic for decades. With the Vision V we take that heritage and transform it into a completely new context of highest luxury transportation. This show car embodies the perfect harmony between luxury and van design, setting a new benchmark for the future”, added Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer, Mercedes-Benz Group.
Interior
Inside, the Vision V previews the upcoming van’s cabin architecture which – like the exterior – is very modern and stylish that Merc says ‘sets new standards in automotive engineering’.
“The Vision V is the beginning of a new era for Mercedes-Benz Vans. It demonstrates, in the truest sense of the word, how we bring luxury to a spacious cabin and define a new segment. With that, we set standards in design, comfort and an immersive user experience – while meeting the highest demands of our customers”, remarked Thomas Klein, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Weights & Dimensions
Currently, the Vito is offered in two load lengths and just one height option; providing load volumes of between 6.0 and 6.6 cubic metres and its imagined the new model will be offered in the same options; although it is too early to say for certain.
Mercedes-Benz Vito 2026 Battery
Currently, the Mercedes-Benz eVito is offered with a 60kWh battery offering a range of 160 miles. Since its launched, this has been eclipsed by many of the newer vans and its therefore likely that Daimler will offer a much larger battery on the 2026 Mercedes-Benz eVito.
Volkswagen recently launched the eVito’s key competitor; the 2025 VW Transporter.
