Farizon SV Review

The Farizon SV is the all-new large van from the all-new (to the UK, at least) Chinese manufacturer that is due to go on sale later this year with a starting price of £45,000 plus VAT. With the largest battery, the Farizon SV offers a range of 247 miles (WLTP – Combined) and the lightest model has a payload of 1,350kg.

EVT’s high level overview:

  • Three load lengths and three roof heights available
  • Three battery options; 67kWh (LFP), 83kWh (LFP) and 106kWh (NMC)
  • One standard specification
  • Range of up to 247 miles
  • Payload of up to 1,350kg

Farizon SV Dimensions and Weights

As an overview, the SV covers two traditional van classes (the medium- and large-van segments) with a load volume range of between 7.0 and 13.0 cubic metres. Despite using the heavier LFP batteries for the short-range models, the lightweight construction of the SV means it compares extremely well with its rivals for payload at up to 1,350kg – although the towing capacity of two tonnes is in-line with the industry standard.

Other interesting features of the SV include its lack of a B-Pillar, which improves loading and unloading, and its very low loading height of just 550mm – achieved through its skateboard chassis architecture and ultra-thin battery packs.

There is also a Payload Monitoring System, which actively displays the gross vehicle weight within the instrument panel to prevent overloading and is standard on every model; as well as V2L for off-grid power.

Battery and Motor

Farizon has used CATL LFP (heavier and less efficient but more durable) batteries for the short and medium range models, and CATL NMC batteries (less durable but more efficient and lighter) for the long-range model. These return ranges of up to 188 miles (67kWh), 234 miles (83kWh) and 247 miles (106kWh); although the latter is only available on the L3H3 model.

Maximum charging speeds for the batteries vary between a very average 120kW and 140kW, but the charging time (20%-80%) for the larger NMC battery is just 40 minutes – only 4 minutes longer than the two smaller batteries.

In terms of performance, all models have a Hasco Magna electric motor mounted on the front axle, which is capable of producing an impressive 170kW (231PS) and 336Nm. There are three drive modes (Eco, Comfort and Sport) which caters performance to the drivers’ preference.

Farizon SV Specification

Like many Chinese manufacturers, Farizon is just offering one high-specification trim level for the UK to keep the ordering processes simple and more efficient. A 12.3-inch touchscreen display, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, 360-degree surround view and a comprehensive ADAS package, resulting in a ‘Platinum’ certification in the NCAP ratings.

Ride and Handling

The Farizon SV handles extremely well thanks to its low centre-of-gravity and its powerful 231PS electric motor. Even by electric van standards, the cabin noise is very low although – like many modern vans – the ADAS parameters are quite strict, which leads to frequent warning alarms.

Farizon SV Price and Availability

The Farizon SV is priced from £45,000 to £56,000 plus VAT, which is considerably higher than we were expecting given the ‘challenger’ stance of the brand. First deliveries are expected in the second half of 2025 and the SV is backed by a 4-year, 120,000-mile warranty.
